The Study Group for Musics of East Asia (MEA), under the International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM), was formed in September 2006.
We aim to provide a forum for all scholars interested in the musics of East Asia, broadly defined both musically and geographically.
We plan to hold conferences every two years, in between ICTM meetings, to put out circulars, and to initiate a mailing list among our members in order to facilitate communications.
We welcome all ICTM members to join us. Looking forward to seeing you on the internet and in our conferences!
